So the Toad Extension is dead?

We really bet on the wrong horse? We really have to think about switching to MS SQL Server. There is so much we´re missing and now the Database Projects for Oracle also fall apart.
What´s wrong with Microsoft? At the beginning of VS2010 they made huge advertising on their open interface for additional DSPs and with vNext they change everything again?
I can´t believe it... will there be something similar in the future? We WANT to version our Oracle databases and we WANT to deploy it to different targets...

tkrause, you're not alone. Lots of folks were real happy with the Oracle extension to Visual Studio. Here's a blog post i just made on the topic http://toadworld.com/Blogs/tabid/67/EntryId/876/What-happened-to-Toad-Extension-for-Visual-Studio.aspx.
You can version control you Oracle objects with TFS using Toad for Oracle. It's not the same thing as Toad Ext for VS, but it does give you that capability. We're looking into ways we can improve the support for TFS in Toad for Oracle in future releases. If you'd like to talk about it some more, send me a private message so we can connect. (This forum will be read-only after today.)
Thanks! Sorry for the bad news...
Daniel
