PostgreSQL: Cannot switch schema browser between open databases

If I have two open connections, I cannot find a way to switch schema browser between connections or open a new browser for the other database. The only way I found is by closing the database connection of the currently open schema!
Thanks,
- Mohammad

Hi,
could you tell us your configuration please? OS, Java version, Eclipse version... Can you reproduce it consistently? This reappearing bug is known, but it's rare and we cannot find a way to reproduce it for some strange reason.

It is now fixed after updating Toad. Sorry for not doing my homework before reporting.
I'm using Eclipse 3.7.2, Java 1.6.0_21 64bit on Windows 7 x64.

Thanks, ok that it works now. However, it's possible that the bug in switching connections is still persisting. How many processors do you run? (We suspect that its cause might be in thread synchronization and therefore it's so hard to reproduce.)

Now I have this problem again. After my computer have gone into sleep/wake up cycle, the schema browser no longer switches between connections.
Even after closing and reopening all connections, the last opened connection is sticky. I had disconnect and reconnect the other connection to open it in the schema browser.

Hi,
this information is very interesting, it really seems to be a thread problem, maybe a very tricky one. I even googled some older bugs in Eclipse that occured after sleep/wake.
Does switching between connections work ok after restarting Eclipse?

I got this bug only once, but it is extremely difficult to trace as we cannot debug it. Maybe several more questions for you to test... So please...
1. When the bug is there, try to close the Schema Browser and reopen it. Does it work ok then? And if so, how long does it work? Until next sleep/wake cycle?
2. Is the Schema Browser the only view that is irresponsive? There are other views depending on Connection view - Editors, SQL Monitor.
3. Is it true that the Schema Browser doesn't respond only to switching of connections? If a connection is connected, disconnected, created, is it ok?
4. Do you use some customization of your Toad Extension perspective?

No. It does not work. After reopening the Schema Browser it does not show anything, just an empty gray background and no connection title or filter field, even if I switched the connection.
When I disconnect any connection, the title and filter gets displayed and the background changes to white. Still, changing the connection does not change the title or content.
2. Is the Schema Browser the only view that is irresponsive? There are other views depending on Connection view - Editors, SQL Monitor.
SQL Monitor is irresponsive; I does not display anything, just white background and empty header. Describe Object windows respond the selection in the connections window. When I opened two SQL worksheets for two connections, only the first one appeared in the connection tree but that could be another bug.
Note: While I'm writing this, the other SQL worksheet appeared in the connection tree after a few minutes.
3. Is it true that the Schema Browser doesn't respond only to switching of connections? If a connection is connected, disconnected, created, is it ok?
Yes, disconnecting and connecting switches the Schema browser, but it is still sticky to the last connected connection.
4. Do you use some customization of your Toad Extension perspective?
No. I just keep the DBMS Output, SQL Monitor, and SQL Recall windows minimized.
